1. Introduction
The Workday & Shift Calendar is a core configuration module used across the entire system during planning, scheduling, and resource management.
Behind this module is a built-in, system-level calendar, which defines working days, shift times, and exceptions such as holidays or company-wide shutdowns.
This configuration directly influences all functions that rely on the calendar (e.g., scheduling, capacity planning, resource utilization).
2. Navigating to the Page
The Workday & Shift Calendar page can be found in the Admin Interface under the General Settings section in the left sidebar.

3. Page Structure
The page consists of two main functional areas:
- Workday Configuration (upper section)
- Exceptions (lower section)
3.1. Workday Configuration
This area defines which days of the week are considered working days and the shift time ranges for each workday.
Fields and Functions
- Workday Checkbox
Each day of the week includes a checkbox.- If checked → the day is considered a working day.
- If unchecked → the day is treated as a non-working day.
- Shift Time Fields
For each selected workday, the user must specify the shift time range when operating under a single-shift setup:- From (start time)
- To (end time)
These settings define the daily operational working hours used throughout the system.
3.2. Exception Management
The Exceptions section allows users to manually enter special dates where normal working day rules do not apply.
Types of Exceptions
- Additional non-working days
Example: Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, corporate holidays, shutdown periods. - Additional working days
Days that are typically non-working but must be treated as workdays (e.g., weekend shifts, rescheduled workdays).

Functionality
Users can:
- Add a new exception date
- Mark whether the date is a non-working day or an extra working day
- Provide a short description (optional)
These exceptions override the default weekly calendar configuration.
4. System Behavior & Impact
The calendar configuration affects multiple modules across the system. All functions tied to capacity, scheduling, or time allocation must consider the calendar rules.
4.1. Modules Affected
- Scheduling / Planning
All work orders and plans must respect working days and shift times. - Resource Utilization
Capacity calculations use the defined working hours and exceptions. - Work Reporting (Feedback)
Tasks cannot be scheduled or reported on days marked as non-working.
5. Restrictions
5.1. Work Cannot Be Scheduled on Non-Working Days
If a day is marked as a non-working day (either a default or an exception), the system:
- Prevents job creation on that day
- Prevents feedback reporting on that day
- Displays a warning message to the user
6. Summary
The Workday & Shift Calendar is essential for maintaining accurate and consistent planning across the system. It provides:
✔ Weekly workday and shift time definition
✔ Exception handling for holidays, shutdowns, and extra workdays
✔ Automatic enforcement of working rules in scheduling and reporting
✔ System-wide influence on capacity and resource utilization
This configuration ensures that every time-based function in the system aligns with the organization’s real operational calendar.
